Convenience store shelves

The floor What breaks on a convenience store counter?

Three places a convenience queue fails before the guest has paid.

The short queue

A convenience counter sells two or three packs at a time: a cold bottle, a packet of chips, a chocolate bar. Guests expect to leave quickly. If the till forces a long hunt for a pack without a barcode, the queue builds and people walk next door.

Shared logins

Long hours are the next break. Two or three cashiers share the day. When the drawer is short at night, nobody can say which sale went wrong if every bill sat under one shared login.

Empty cooler

Fast movers also empty without warning. Cold drinks and biscuits turn over all day. If the shop only notices an empty cooler when a guest asks, the sale is already gone. Evening broadband in Dhaka and Chattogram drops as well. A till that waits on the internet holds the line. Riser POS Retail scans barcode packs, lets the cashier tap items without a barcode from the product list, and can keep billing offline until the line returns. Low-stock alerts sit with advanced inventory on Plus when Dimdul sets them up. A café or fast food counter should use the café or fast food guide instead.

One sale How does one convenience store sale move from the barcode scan to the day's report?

A short packed basket, a fast scan, and an evening close.

Riser POS billing screen on a tablet
  1. The evening basket

A guest at the evening rush brings a chilled soft drink, a packet of crackers, and a small gum pack from the jar by the drawer.

  2. Scan and tap

The cashier scans the drink and the crackers. The gum has no barcode, so they tap that product on the till. The three lines sit on one bill. Payment is cash, card, or mobile banking. The receipt prints, and stock moves with the sale.

  3. Close and the day

Ask on the demo whether a low-stock alert should fire when the cooler falls below the shop's own threshold. The day's report uses what was sold and what was paid. Separate staff logins on the published user caps help show who closed which bills. A detailed shift-handover report with cash drops and petty payouts is not described on this page. Confirm what the close screen shows with Dimdul. If broadband drops during the rush, the Android or Windows till can still close the bill and sync when the connection returns.
